Heating things up at the Melbourne HIA Homeshow…

Posted on May 20th, 2016 by Admin@Sculpt

Melbourne’s cosmopolitan Southbank was the perfect backdrop for Sculpt’s premiere into this year’s HIA Melbourne Homeshow, which was held over four great days, from April 21st through to 24th, at the Melbourne Exhibition Building.

IMG_5898
We were honoured to introduce our luxury fireplace collection into the home ideas market. For us, sharing our enticing lifestyle images through our social media pages and website is one thing, but having the opportunity to meet and share our fireplaces with thousands of people over these four days, was a very proud & rewarding moment. We know our products are finished to perfection, they are a stand out in the market, with their hand crafted, artisan construction they are second to none. Much of our diverse range of products are market firsts in Australia, like our Seguin Visio 8 Plus with IHS Australia’s first remote controlled wood heater, the largest single sided and double sided wood heater available on the Australian market, the only four sided wood heater available in Austraila, and we could keep going….

IMG_5952

I think it goes without saying that our suspended fireplaces recieved a lot of attention. Our Jean Claude Bordelet creations are crowd favourites and our girls Tatiana and Lea were loving the attention. Our hanging wood fires enhance any area and create just the right amount of dramatic ambience.

IMG_5924
Our landscape fireplace designs by Axis were also showcased with the Axis H1600XXL, which exuded unsurpassed grandeur during the show. Being the largest available wood burning fireplace in Australia – with a 1.7m viewing area of the flames, it also comes in a double sided option. Realising this size is not for the faint hearted or those with a more general sized abode, we also had the Axis H1200 & H1600DS woodfire on display.

IMG_5944
And we couldn’t not bring along a teasing taster of our beautiful 100% pure cast iron Seguin range, these well crafted boxes are so versatile and create endless options in regards to how you want them in your home, we love them freestanding as a statement piece.

IMG_5904

Pride is probably the best word to describe how we felt on Sunday evening. Whether it was some curious inspo finding, suppliers, products or just gaining some unequivical advice that lead you to the HIA homeshow in Melbounre’s Exhibition Centre, we had a great time showcasing our exclusive products and look forward to continuing to be a part of events like these that bring us closer to our clients in the future.

Trending in fireplaces

We are seeing a decline in mantel pieces, TVs above the fireplace and stack stone walls. Clients are now interested in sleek, minimalistic panoramic fires with slimline trims and floating concrete or stone hearths. Our freestanding and suspended fireplaces appeal to a wide range of design aesthetics, with a look that suits the trending urban industrial style that is in this season.

Sculpt Fireplaces favourite fireplace

The team at Sculpt Fireplaces favourite fireplace would have to be the Sculpt Fireplaces remote control wood heater – The Seguin Visio 8 Plus with IHS!

“Imagine saying that to your friends? I have a remote control wood heater, it tells me when to load wood and regulates the temperature for me! Amazing!” Hayley | Purchasing Officer at Sculpt Fireplaces

5 top tips:

1) Always use dry hard wood as fuel, as it burns cleaner and for longer, make sure its dry with a moisture content below 20%. Don’t use treated wood or pine as they burn quicker and with more emissions.

2) To easily clean the glass on your wood heater dab some newspaper in cold water, then work using a circular motion, dab it in the ash around the glass until clean. It works a treat!

3) Don’t compromise the look you love because of price, its in your house forever. A fireplace is a permanent fixture and you need to be happy with the look and feel of it in the space first and foremost.

4) Between March and April is the best time of year to buy a fireplace, allowing your installation to be executed just in time for those cold winter nights.

5) If you are looking for that custom design exclusive fireplace you may have to allow for overseas orders, so investigate early for those well planned builds or renovations.
